My name is Helen Brown-Nicholson and I’m the Baby College teacher for Bracknell and the surrounding area. I’m Mummy to Dexter (10) and Oscar (8) and baby Ted (2). I live in Ascot. I was a Physiologist and Health Advisor for 11 years before becoming a Baby College teacher. As a scientist I appreciate the research that has gone into Baby College activities and how each one is important for the babies’ complete development. Seeing the babies grow and change over the months and years is so very rewarding. I also enjoy helping parents understand baby development and how important their role in this is. I love teaching Baby College - it makes me smile. It is so rewarding seeing the changes in the babies as they develop. With practise at home with mum, we see developmental changes very quickly. The older babies start to anticipate the games we play too and are often asking for "more" with a sign.
Here`s some feedback from mums who attend my classes:
"Jack and I would just like to take this opportunity to say a very big thank you to Helen in Bracknell for all that she has done for us. Not only has she helped Jack but also she has given me the support and encouragement to be a stronger mother. We have both learnt a lot from her Baby College lessons and they have been a joy to attend. I have learnt its not easy being a mum but Helen has helped me to cope."

"Tama and I enjoy Baby College because it gives me time in my busy day to spend time totally focused on her, giving me ideas about what to do with her during the week and we both love it. She enjoys the bouncing around and I enjoy being with other mums. I also enjoy the signing as it has taught Tama how to communicate."

“Morgan and I love going to Baby College as it’s a great way to learn how he’s developing, at what pace and why. As a mum I also enjoy learning how what we do on a daily basis will benefit from this development - our weekly session is a good reminder for when I’m at home. At bath time we discuss with daddy what we learnt this week so that he can share in Morgan’s development too. In the early weeks Baby College was great as it was hard to find somewhere to go out and know that whatever he decided to do, it was okay - the group was welcoming and friendly and it’s lovely to see other babies of different ages and their individual stages of development. Morgan also loves Helen for her endless enthusiasm, encouragement and how she’s able to make all the babies smile.”
